Frontier Spacetime Technologies exists to investigate difficult and unconventional questions while maintaining rigorous scientific standards. This page sets out the process a question passes through, from initial hypothesis to published result.

Why These Questions
Some questions remain unexplored not because they are unimportant, but because asking them can carry professional or reputational risk. Frontier Spacetime Technologies believes scientific questions should be judged by the quality of the evidence and the testability of the hypothesis, not by the comfort of the subject.
We are prepared to investigate questions others may avoid, but we will apply the same standards of measurement, falsifiability, replication and scrutiny to every result.
The Process
From Question to Published Result

Hypothesis
A question is reduced to a statement that can be shown to be wrong.
Work begins with a literature review establishing what is already measured, at what precision and with what stated uncertainty.
From that baseline a specific, falsifiable prediction is written down, together with the result that would count as refutation. A question that cannot be refuted by any realistic measurement is not taken forward as an experiment.

Measurement Design
The apparatus is designed around the error budget, not around the hoped-for result.
Before any measurement is taken, the expected signal is compared against an itemised noise and systematic-error budget: thermal drift, vibration, electromagnetic coupling, alignment and readout limitations.
If the predicted signal does not exceed that budget by a defined margin, the experiment is redesigned or set aside. Analysis procedures are fixed in advance to avoid selecting a favourable interpretation after the fact.

Testing & Controls
The apparatus must first reproduce the known result.
Every experiment includes null runs, blank configurations and calibration against an established standard. An instrument that cannot recover the accepted value is not yet capable of detecting a departure from it.
Anomalies are treated as suspected instrumentation artefacts until that explanation has been actively excluded.

Independent Replication
An anomalous result is not a discovery.
Results that survive internal scrutiny are repeated with varied apparatus, varied operators and, wherever practical, at an independent university or external laboratory.
Methods, raw data and analysis code are prepared so that a third party can attempt reproduction without relying on our own interpretation of the data.

Transparency of Uncertainty
Every number is published with its uncertainty and its limitations.
Results are reported with confidence intervals, systematic-error estimates and an explicit statement of what the measurement does not establish.
Negative results are published on the same basis as positive ones. Demonstrating that an apparently promising mechanism does not work eliminates it for everybody and prevents further resources being spent on it.

Established theories are respected for their extraordinary predictive success, without assuming that present understanding is complete understanding.
Make Hypotheses Falsifiable
Research questions must ultimately produce predictions capable of experimental testing.
Measure Before Extrapolating
The objective begins with reproducible laboratory measurements rather than assumptions about future technologies.
Replicate Extraordinary Results
An anomalous result is not a discovery. Independent reproduction is essential.
Publish Useful Negative Results
Showing that a promising mechanism does not work prevents wasted resources and advances scientific understanding.
State the Uncertainty
A measurement without a stated uncertainty is not a scientific result, and a bound is a legitimate outcome.

Scepticism is welcome.
